Jim, None of these businesses are going away. They are simply moving from easy profits to no profits, or, more likely, cyclical profits and losses the way steel and copper and oil do.

The internet was strong last year and server revenues went south big time.

The battle is between cos. that have grown fat and lazy on easy money and their short-sighted managements that have wasted the cash made during that period. That was the cash with which they could have recast themselves into pc plus cos. But it was thrown down a rat hole and into the pockets of insiders.

As far as the battle between direct waiting periods and buy today sales goes, we all know that E-Machines is winning that one. <g>
