After most revolutions I have studied, the new governments finance themselves in one classic way: inflation. The economy is often FUBAR and taxes could not be collected even if anyone had any money. So you print it. Some times you pretend to finance it with nationalized assets, like the assignats in the French revolution, but often it is simply fiat money printed by the government or their captured, nationalized, central bank.
