Thanks for that summary.
I didnt know Microsoft had the power to break Comcasts exclusivity agreement. Thats unnerving to say the least. What did Microsoft do to get that kind of power?
Losing Comcast is really my most significant worry, Comcast is only a part of the @home cable coalition but it would set a very bad precident. On the other hand it would probably shut up all those people screaming monopoly. I assume AT&T is bending over backwards to give Comcast whatever they want to stay in the family.
Long term though I'm not worried:
Comcast is only one of the *many* growing number of cable partners, @home just now moving into Japan starting its spread throughout the world. Europe, Asia. Small & Mid size cable companies are coming online too.
When will anyone get that the current # of subscribers is completely irrelevant? Calculate the cost/subscriber in 5-7 years and maybe you have something. Can @home grow to 20 million? Of course. Maybe even 40. Can AOL do similar growth (40x-80x) to 680 million? 1.4 Billion? No chance, no way.
Last year it was "only" 100,000 customers. Now its "only" 450,000. Next year "only" 1,000,000, the year after that "only"...

@Home Network (ATHM 1172 5/8 +10 3/16) Due to report results on Tuesday... Given stock's incredible run nothing but a blow out number likely to keep stock moving higher.
Briefing looking to the future for once! ATHM @ 2001 in 2001.
