Everybody who actually visits the stores reports that they are busy. I live in Boulder, CO and they just opened a new store here, which is the only game in town after Egghead closed shop.

It's to be expected that CPU had to take a huge hit from absorbing the buyout of Computer City stores. Management is quite shortsighted, lacking in any imagination whatsoever, and I see that as the biggest problem, but not an insurmountable one. Put Doom on the shelves and it will sell. It doesn't get any more basic than that -- and if your kid wants a computer game, he wants it now, not next week, shipped from cyberspace. Let's not forget how very much we all demand instant gratification. CompUSA is one of the few retail outlets that supplies chipheads with their fix.
