I'm Account ~#700 from a few weeks ago
I sent in my $2,000 and application, but I doubt I'll be able to trade for a few weeks as they are only activating up to 100 accounts each day. Since they are using Windows'NT scaleable servers, I image they are bringing new servers online to meet the need as they see fit. If they are using Compaq 850R's, for example, this process is very easy and not expensive, as long as it was well planned. I have confidence that their real-time quote providing experience has brought a great deal of expertise to bear at getting this new trading service right the first time, all the time. Some idiot on Yahoo posted that they have signed up between 10,000-20,000 people. That is simply ridiculous, and no one should expect those kind of numbers until they do a very expensive marketing campaign. If by months end they manage to get even 4,000 people applied, and 2,000 accounts active, I'll be very impressed. I asked to be part of the beta program, but was refused. I think they only let insiders play, out of fear that non-disclosure info might leak out otherwise. I imagine after tomorrow you may start seeing actual user testimonial, but beware; many shorter may use their "experience" to talk down the stock as it may be weeks before enough people using it online can actually tell us anything. People will also be pretty critical as they have experience with other services, and have high expectations as I do. For example, I've used several other services over the years, and currently am satisfied with DLJ-Direct. OnTrack would have to be pretty good to get me to close that account, and bring any more than a token amount of money over to TRAC. |
