Commercial Launch in Texas previous to 5 October 1998?

Help me out here guys. It appears that Samuel's definition of 'commercial launch' may be different than mine. This quote is from Oct 5 98 CNNFN "Business Unusual" article so I'm surprised it didn't cause a megaflap but I see nothing on the (old) SI thread. The article included the then-obligatory Big Bird example... To me a 'commercial launch' means paying customers, advertising the initial availability of the product, that sort of thing.

The quote:

THIERRY: Is ACTV the only company doing this?
SAMUELS: We are the only company doing this. There are many companies that are involved in interactive TV, and the reason we call what we do "individualized TV" is that it's different. It's regular TV, but it's better quality. It's simple, it's all software, there's no technology, and we're already in commercial launch in Texas.

The Article:

And on holding strategies, I am holding until:

SIGNIFICANT weakness in the stock chart...seen any Mike? ;)

Tha Friggin' Dallas Rollout of Fox Sports (They missed baseball this year - if they miss football I'll be really pissed - I think I said this 2 yrs ago) or

Startup and sufficient digestion time of the TVGuide interactive effort or

some sort of bad news, but I have no reason to expect any.

At which time I may reevaluate and still hold!

I (mostly) always believed in this stock, it just ripped my heart out with such regularity that scheduling the transfusions became a problem.

No Longer Anemic,

Jeff
