Intel customers will begin to see the results, but with larger L2 caches

You should be careful to distinguish between a large L1 cache, and a large L2 cache. Large off chip L2 caches are possible with any AMD or Cyrix processor.

A lower latency onboard L2 cache will improve performance, but don't expect to see anywhere near the same kind of benefit from a large onboard L2 that you do with a large onboard L1 (like K7.)
