Good point! Here is an article 1 month old that indicates the same. My point is USRX is competing against CSCO, ASND, Gandf,...etc of the world. This group own 70% of this market and these companies are supporting the k56flex chipset.

"Alameda, CA, January 22, 1997 -- Ascend Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ - ASND) today announced that in the fourth quarter of 1996, more than 330 Internet service providers chose Ascend for their Internet access solutions. At a rate of over 100 new ISPs per month, Ascende stablished dominance in new areas of the market -- ISPs converting from analog to digital technologies and companies providing service internationally -- while maintaining its strong presence with the largest ISPs in North America.

"The ISP market is surging ahead with Ascend at its helm," said Bernie Schneider, Ascend's vice president for strategic business development. "We are embracing this global phenomenon with ISPs that represent a cross section of the market, from large to small and domestic to international."

Ascend has established itself as the market leader in high-speed, switched access products. A report by The Dell'Oro Group, a research and consulting firm for the networking industry, shows that Ascend owns more than two-thirds of the market for digital ports. Ascend's MAX family of WAN access switches -- including the MAX 200Plus, MAX 1800, MAX 2000, MAX 4002, MAX 4004 and the MAX TNT -- offers ISPs scalable, cost-effective remote networking solutions, supporting both digital and analog services. ISPs have also expressed high interest in the GRF 400, Ascend's IP switch that provides Layer-3 switching, reduces the number of wide area switches and forwards Internet Protocol packets at unprecedented speeds.

"Ascend was unmatched in its rate of growth in the fourth quarter," Schneider added, "and our momentum in converting more than 100 new ISPs per month to the digital MAX solution demonstrates how pervasively the Ascend solution is being adopted in the medium tier of the market."

The following is a list of Internet service providers that have purchased Ascend equipment in the three months ending December 31, 1996:
