If one can liquidate SGI's portion of MIPS ownership at the current market value of MIPS shares, then SGI is definitely selling way below liquidation value. I used to think that selling off the entire SGI ownership of MIPS would be impossible without bringing the price down. However, the continued run up of MIPS even after a sizeable secondary offering was announced makes me rethink that.
