DD : I was remarking on the situation because, over the years, it was the separatist attitude of the Albanian Kosovars which, in fact, led to "cleansing" of the Serbs. I was not prescribing what they should do.

Suddenly, however, there's moral outrage because the Serbs appear to be getting their own back. Milosevic is now equated with Hitler and stands accused as a war criminal guilty of genocide. Strange that neither Russia nor China see it that way --- only the countries bent on aggression.

Re SAf or Quebec, it's interesting that you mention those places. Perhaps you could also mention the Mayans in Mexico, Basques in Spain, Kurds in Turkey and Iraq, East Timorese in Indonesia and Tamils in Sri Lanka. Not to mention the Palestinians. At no time have either US or UK (overtly) supported any separatist movements in those countries. But it would seem now, if the French in Quebec, for example, were to start a "Liberation Movement", similar to the KLA, they could automatically count on US and UK to support the break up of Canada. I wonder what would happen if the "native" Americans (Indians) were to start a similar movement?

I'll tell you --- the atrocities against them would make Milosevic look like Sister Theresa!
