Sez it all:

One ophthalmologist, describing the attitude of his colleagues that perform refractive surgery, put it this way, "After you blinded a couple of eyes,
it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal". One refractive surgeon, when asked why he wouldn't have the surgery for his own myopia put it bluntly,
"My eyes are too valuable."
