"To have 24 people devoted to Y2K for two years also says there was
considerable work preceding that to size the situation, make plans & get budget."

The planning part took 1 year followed by the 2 years to fix the Mainframe systems. The 8% low turnover is typical for West Michigan, this is a conservative area.

By the way, we have had Y2K audits and/or consulting help from Arthur Anderson, Gartner & Gigi.

Our original estimate came from IMRS, they were going to have programmers in India work on our programs at night logging on to our system. We felt that could be difficult to manage and expensive, since the fix for Y2K is not difficult, we did it ourselves and saved a bundle.
