I know that the Serbs have been complaining
about the KLA and some kind of drug connection
but I have no idea what they traffic. As for
the weapon smuggling, there is a great demand
for AK-47s from Albania. Since the government
collapsed and all the weapons were stolen from
the military, an AK-47 goes for about $250 US
dollars in Albania, but it zooms about to about
a grand in Kosovo. Not a bad way to make some
cash for people who live on about $800 a year.
However, since the Yugoslavian Army (JNA) has
pretty much destroyed the KLA, I doubt that
you could find many buyers of used AK-47s in
Kosovo now.
