Heinz, I agree. Although it is difficult to make a fundamental bullish case for the market right now, and most timing indicators are signalling a top, the sentiment indicators are still signalling a buy, or at a minimum, a sideways phase with lower volatility, and an upward bias. I watch the VIX index pretty closely, and it remains in a downtrned which is generally bullish. Although CPQ may be a good excuse for a sell-off, its weak profits should be no big surprise to investors, esp. given the probs. that DELL has already seen. The market's rally in the face of obvious global uncertainty caused by the Kossovo war, is also bullish if you follow the rule-of-thumb that when a market (or stock) rallies in face of bad news, that's bullish.
