umbro, re: kosovo impact on market direction. as i have mentioned in a previous post, wars have in the past generally produced rallies in the u.s. stock market. this may be due to the fact that wars waged by the u.s. are usually won, as well as foreign funds seeking a safe haven.that said, one would surely do well to keep a close eye on kosovo as the situation could easily deteriorate to an extent that the market won't be able to face down anymore (see reply #9812).i recommend watching the daily nato briefing as well as the british defense ministry briefing on cnn where the occasional hint is sometimes inadvertently dropped, such as nato's macedonian field commander remarking to an unhcr official that ngos will have to take over the role of helping the refugees from nato troops as 'we will move up north soon'.
