Lycos has licensed Open Market's Transact electronic commerce software. Lycos will use the software to run its electronic commerce marketplace. The agreement calls for Open Market to receive a cut of every sale made using its software. The technology will allow online shoppers to move from store to store on the Lycos network using one shopping cart and making only one payment for all goods purchased. The software automatically divides payments among merchants.
