As pointed out to you on the AMAT thread, DELL isn't even remotely likely to compete with the guys who offer boxes without:

1. A floppy
2. A CDROM or DVD device
3. Adequate, general software
4. Adequate memory
5. A Monitor
6. Service
7. Everything else it takes to make customers happy.

But thanks for coming back to this thread where knowledgeable people can respond to your posts.

The buyers or receivers of the low cost / no cost PCs will be Dell Customers on the subsequent purchases. I see this as supporting Dell's mid to long term growth. Bringing in some more neophytes that will soon discover the value that Dell brings to the marketplace.
