Look at it like this. The time from Adam to Moses is an age with no covenant between God and man. Certain "laws" governed at that time. Man had no access to God at all and had no way to address any grievance or expect any mercy. From Moses until Jesus Christ the Old Covenant was the law for mankind and the Israelites were the emissaries for God to the world. Mankind had a limited access to God through the Levitical priesthood and the sacrifices and the Temple. God had an interest in preserving Israel and what He was doing with mankind at that time. Then from Jesus Christ until now the New Covenant in Jesus's blood has reigned. After Jesus Israel was "cut off" because it no longer had the path to God. We now have full access to God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His subsequent victory over death once we accept Jesus and are born again of God's Spirit. This "Age of Grace" is in full force now. And it is meant for all mankind, not bottled up by one nation. It's characteristics are far different from the past covenant or the time before. Jesus came in the flesh "without reference to judgement" and accomplished a way back to right standing with God and a way around judgement. In the past that judgement was always in the way. The old covenant offered only a temporary reprieve from the ever present judgement, a sacrifice and forgiveness of sin for one year only. But Jesus Christ offered Himself a sacrifice that enables us to be forgiven sin once for all time! So there has been a gradual unfolding of God's plan for man which ended with Jesus and this Age of Grace. Now we have promises from God that He will keep to us, before there was nothing. The Christians are the emissaries of God now but many of them have forgotten or never knew that we are in the age of grace and not of judgement. The judgmental ranting's of some have turned many against God and His salvation.
