George, IMO I'd suggest a vote of war to legitimize what we are doing in the Balkans just like the Iraqi War. My concern here is that we've essentially empowered the Nationalists and Communists in Russia.

They've been saying all along that the West was "doing them in" during this period of detente. What's going on in the Balkans, the West trying to dictate a western solution in Eastern Europe just confirms their suspicions- in their eyes.

Now from our own selfish perspective here, it should help support oil prices...

Somewhere out there is another Peter the Great or Ivan the Terible who will come along and putt he pieces back together again... It's the nature of Russian history....

Also upstream of the damaged bridges down in the Danube in Belgrade- whose barge traffic gets hurt? I'm thinking Ukraine, Czech Republic and maybe Slovakia....
