Something I just run across.
Maxtor Corp: MXTR

Web site

Business Summary from Yahoo!

Maxtor Corporation (NEW) develops, manufactures and markets hard disk drive products to customers who
sell their products in the personal computer industry. Customers include OEMs, distributors and retailers. For
the fiscal year ended 12/26/98, total revenue rose 69% to $2.41 billion. Net income totalled $31.2 million vs.
a loss of $109.9 million. Results reflect an increase in unit shipments and higher margins due to the timely
introduction of new, higher margin products.

My comments:

If you look at the chart, you will see a dramatic depreciation in the price of this
stock. There seems to be a lot of support at the current price, which is practically at
the IPO level. I see very little downside risk and a potentially huge upside reward. If
you buy it now, I suggest holding for about 3 months for a possible 50% or greater
return. They will announce Q1 results on April 22. Also, the recent warning from
Compaq might cause some selling pressure in this stock on Monday, which would be
a perfect opportunity to buy.

Suggested buy price: <=$8

Suggested target sell price: >=$13

Estimated hold time: 3 months

Classification: Medium risk
