You want to blame God for the stupid actions of deluded men who think they are doing some service for God, but are not. Things like burning people at the stake who disagree with their doctrine. All I can say is the just reward for their actions awaits them. It will be given to them at the proper time.

We are less concerned with assuring that these deluded ones get their just desserts then with assuring that they no longer have the opportunity to burn anyone at the stake. This is why religion must be constrained. Anybody is free to believe that they are God's chosen representatives, and that they are doing God's will, until they intrude on the rights of others. The debate is not over who really knows what God wants; that is something none of us knows for sure. The debate is over what people can be permitted to do to one another, and since we cannot resolve any of the claims to divine support, we must discount all of them in reaching these decisions, and rely on our own capabilities.
