Calculate your own. Run a 'harmonic' average (invert wtd avg of E/Ps), arithmetically equivalent to doing a total market value/total earnings for the entire index. I think you will be intrigued with what you find if you actually do it. The 'skew' I see is not a few companies with negative earnings, but huge market caps relative to tiny total earnings. -bakunin
