Inversiones Ibarburu. an offshore Internet sports book based in Costa Rica, is now taking bets on the daily ups and downs of the Dow-Jones industrial average. The company tested the wagering waters a few weeks ago when it accepted bets on Oscar winners. Customer service manager, Tony Price, says, ''We got pretty good play on the Academy Awards. We're looking at areas to expand to give people what they want.'' Professional tennis matches and national election results might be next. The Kansas City Star has the story.
