HK stocks off sharply in early trade, follow Japan
HONG KONG, April 12 Hong Kong stocks fell sharply in early Monday trade as the market ran into profit-taking following a strong rally last week, with lower Tokyo stocks putting additional pressure on share prices.

The Hang Seng Index was down 2.09 percent at 11,665 points and soon extended its losses to trade down 262 points or 2.20 percent at 11,652. Turnover was HK$698 million after the first eight minutes of trade and declines outpaced advances 132 to 45
