I think the Friday statement was disgraceful in its timing and in the amateurish and confusing nature of its content. It was made by Mason.

Given that, what to do? The fact that EP spoke yesterday was an indication that the company (maybe driven by the Board) knew that the Mason statement had to be given further substance.

The fact that there is be a CC today is encouraging, on balance. I doubt if they would be pouring fuel on the fire. They obviously feel that a fuller explanation would be more favourable than not. They could have postponed it until earnings on the grounds of quiet period restrictions. They would want it out before Innovate.

Judging by the tenor of EP letter to managers on Friday, the emphasis is going to be on cost-cutting and the Street will like that.

The cc will cause day traders to be cautious about selling off too far. The content of the CC might cause a snap back - or further sell-off - how's that for a "on the one hand and on the other" analysis - I'm getting as good as bug-eyes on the The Bleet.com
