DIGITAL DESCRIPTOR SYSTEMS, INC. Introduces Portable Compu-Scan
LANGHORNE, Pa., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Garrett U. Cohn, President of DIGITAL DESCRIPTOR SYSTEMS, INC. (OTC Bulletin Board: DDSI - news), today announced the introduction of the first portable livescan computer imaging capture device for the criminal justice and security markets. The device will be sold by DDSI as part of its Compu-Scan product line.
Mr. Cohn said, ''This device adds value to DDSI because its small size and ease of use enable it to capture fingerprints in virtually any location, no matter how difficult or inconvenient to reach. We expect that it will add greatly to DDSI's sales during the latter part of 1999.''
DDSI, a leading designer and marketer of digitized imaging systems for the criminal justice market, will introduce the device at the Spring '99 COMDEX conference being held at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, April 19-22, 1999.
The portable device incorporates DDSI's contactless fingerprint capture technology (patent pending). It weighs about 80 lbs. A 110 volt version can be plugged into a conventional AC outlet. A 12 volt version operable from an automobile is expected to be introduced later this year. There is also a 220 volt version for use in Europe.
In addition to the current criminal justice marketplace, DDSI is introducing its technology into other commercial markets such as financial, access control and the bio-metric identification industry. Digital Descriptor Systems, Inc., a leading developer and designer of digitized imaging systems is based in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. It is traded on the Nasdaq OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol of DDSI. The Internet website address is www.ddsi-cpc.com.
