Hypocrites are hypocrites, whether Christian, Jewish, Moslem, Hindu, or just plain vanilla. Hypocrites pretend to be something that they aren't, and they are not fun people. Not like you or me.<g>
It's kinda galling to be savaged by someone who pretends to be mealy-mouthed and pious, you feel like pointing out how inconsistent their actions are with their words, but what's the point? The leopard won't change its spots. They already know better than to do what they are doing, and if you point it out to them, it's not like they are gonna say, "Wow, thanks for pointing it out, I never noticed."
On the other hand, if you care to point out to me, in confidence, that I am not being consistent, or kind, or those other things I'd like to be, please feel free, and I promise to listen. |
