One of the reasons for the strength may be investor recognition of what is happening at Wavetop these days. (You only have to call the company to get this info).
For those of you who don't feel like calling or are too shy, here in a nutshell are some of the goodies.
1) Tom Kozik has been promoted to handle all of Wavetop.
2a) He has been given carte blanche on hiring Microsoft, Yahoo!, or RealNetworks "type" employees. Kozik (ex Microsoft) is a very credible leader in the Internet space and is well connected.
2b)Kozik will be announcing a much more credible content/revenue model for investors soon. Listen to the next conf call.
3) the company is about to reveal their strategy for placing data on Palm Pilots, mobile phones, etc.
4) a data speed upgrade is coming soon. We are getting version 1&2 of Wavetop today (speed wise), we will soon see ver. 3,4,and 5
5) we may soon see an integration of Wavetop with WebTV (read: immediate revenues)
These are but a few of the initiatives I think we will hear about in the next few weeks. Also, it will become clear very soon that Wavetop revenues are starting to ramp up. Wavetop will soon have faster revenue growth (and more sustainable growth) than many "so-called" Internet stocks today. good luck investors.
