You see, this was a great thing Abraham did. It was a symbolic act of obedience also. Because of Abraham, who was willing to sacrifice his only son who came to him through God's promise, God would sacrifice His only Son, Jesus Christ for man. Abraham did not choose to hide his son and with hold his son from God, therefore God would not with hold His Son from man. Abraham's obedience opened the door, paved the way. But God did not require Abraham's son's life and sent an angel to stop Abraham. And a ram was supplied for an offering instead. But God carries out His covenant with Abraham. We are Abraham's descendants, all of us who accept Jesus Christ, at whatever level of faith. We are as the sands of the sea, all us christians, over the last 2,000 years!! Chuzz, it's us!!! We are the son's of God, all those who are of the same faith as Abraham. And some of those promises are yet to be fulfilled, and they will be. It's not over yet!!
