Democrats Sign Deal To Open Online Casino
Thu Apr 1, 1999
The US Democrat party has announced plans to start an online casino to raise
funds for Al Gore's presidential campaign in 2000. President Bill Clinton
explains, ''We think that using the Internet to raise funds for our political
aims is the future of politics. As most people know, Vice President Al Gore
is the father of the Internet.'' Al Gore adds, ''George Washington is
reported to have used the proceeds from lotteries to buy muskets, ammunition,
and a few uniforms for his bedraggled Revolutionary army. We think gambling
on the Internet, my own revolutionary invention, is the way to go!'' The
''Capitol Hill Casino'' will attract patrons with the marketing slogan:
''Democrats have more fun than Senator Kyl.'' The casino is planned for
launch next April 1st.
