Denis, <<"paleo-channel" thingy?>> During the rah rah days of IPM it was generally believed that the precious metals were uniformly deposited in the desert sands. Not so based on exploratory work by Maxam that can now low cost map the deposits. Both magnetic and mobile ion technology is used for mapping. What Maxam has learned is that the metals were deposited eons ago in channels where there was natural erosion, they call them paleo-channels. Just like precious metals in hard rock may be found in veins, the desert sands have highest level deposits in these channels. What's useful is that a low cost mapping technology can be used to provide an understanding of where the deposits exist without the expense of an extensive large area drill program. However the technology is currently limited to 20 feet depth, but it does provide a good starting point. IPM randomly picked their COC assay location, a big mistake since the metals deposits aren't homogenous. If they had used the mapping or knew about the channels they would have understood the most probable area to COC test. The following is the current COC mapping location being presently tested by Maxam: 209.185.180.230 (courtesy of Chuca). The large center hole was conventionally drilled and fire assayed previously, ~1 OPT. We believe that the blue color is the highest grades in that mapping. There is a more information about mapping on the Maxam webpage in their technical section: maxamgold.com .
