I do have 'scans' which try to assign 'values' to stocks where
a high value is associated with stocks of high momentum. They
are not depressed but at or close to 52 week highs.
The 30 stocks in my prior post were ranked as of a year ago in order
(hopefully) to find stocks which would project well over the following
year, which they did.
The 30 stocks below were selected on the same basis. They all have
short positions of 7 percent or more, and are the 30 such stocks
with the highest 'value' ranking. These were selected tonight,
April, 12, 1999. They are among the strongest recent stocks, are not
well diversified, and if the market tanks, they will do poorly.
But if recent trends continue, they will do well. We'll know in
6 months to a year.
As an individual, I would look to the top 5-8. If funds were
ample, I would look to the top 10-15.
