You just don't get it. Do you really think that these analysts are making theirown predictions? Get real. Each analyst, at least the good ones, talks with the company, gets presentations from the company, gets "inside" information which we are not privileged to, and obtains the companies expectations. Then, and only then, does an analyst, at least the good ones, make any public comments on their expectations.
Come on wiselight, it's easy to see. Godin is feeding them a number in which Godin is comfortable with. To do otherwise is suicide, both for Godin as well as for the analysts. They work together, that's what makes the markets work.
Just as a case in point, look at Compaq. The analysts were VERY upset the compaq did not inform them earlier. Why, because it makes the analysts look bad, period. |
