But I must admit to great confusion here. Perhaps you can help me. Is Lamech of
the Cain story the same Lamech who was Noah's father. I only ask this because in
my Bible they seem to have two different fathers. One is named Mathuselah
(grandfather of Noah) but a descendant of Seth. The other was Methushael, a
descendant of Cain.

Somehow I discern you are not confused at all.

Ahh, two different fathers?
They are clearly two different generations indeed!

The descendants of both Adam and Cain are spelled out very clearly in the book of Genesis. There are clear distinctions between the blood line of cain and the blood line of Adam.

The descendants of Cain are chronicled in Gen. 4:17-23.
The descendants of Adam are chronicled in Gen. 5: 3-32.

You will also notice that Cain is glaringly absent from the genealogy of Adam.

You also asked:
So who are these guys?

The answer is deep within the pages of God's most blessed word. But not so deep as to remain unknown to those who are willing to search it out.

Shalom...><>
