stock bull, Hi!!! RE: insight from the survey. <ggg> Do you think we should arrange for a formal Cpq surrender and have Michael Dell accept the Cpq flag on the parade field. We can have the band playing in the background. <vbg> Just got back from Peter Luger's Steak House with Drew Swiss...what a meal!!! Of course we had a wonderful conversation concerning this war which has been waged for many a year now...Drew is still holding onto a few shares of his "DOG PAQK"....I have been showing him very little mercy these past five months ....Hey, what are friends for :o) Some of the words spoken tonight are nothing more than the quotes of management...Sure some go back awhile...Compaq's "High Water Mark" IMO was prior to DELL entering the data server business....Once DELL had the ability to bid on almost virtually ever business world wide CPQ's fate was sealed....I'm sure you've read my repeated reminder of the Meta Group's independent survey which showed DELL "leaving enormous sums of money on the table"....due to not being able to bid on 50% of the corporate accounts...CPQ, HWP, and IBM have previously been winning other contracts DELL was bidding on by lowering their prices on the PC's to kick DELL out of the bidding.. In the mean time jacking the price of the server into orbital prices.... .Michael's comments well over a year ago "WE WILL EXPOSE THE SERVER RIP-OFFS"...."WE WILL RE-WRITE THE WAY BUSINESS IS DONE IN THE ENTRERPRISE MARKET"....these are two of my favorites...not often does Michael talk with this boastful "tone" in his voice....So, if you have followed him you can only judge that this is a given! Drew and I also discussed the "timing" of CPQ's warning....Personally, I think it is the arrogance once again of their management...or better said....the hate of DELL...anything to drag them down immediately after that upbeat analyst meeting...CPQ must really hate DELL...and I love it!!! How could you still own CPQ knowing the way these guys run the company...let alone knowing how DELL runs "our company".... at DELL shareholders come first!! Best, Kemble
