>>You seem to be a bit of an expert on broadband companies<<
Michelle,
Firstly, I am an expert on absolutely nothing. I was just lucky enough to "get" broadband, or high-speed, as I like to call it. The local phone company was offering ADSL. I got it in January. Compared to dial-up, it is lightening fast. My freind has cable. Its fast too. As far as I know there are drawbacks to both at present. For ADSL, its the distance that a potential subscriber lives from a certain site, something like 3 or 4 miles. Certainly more pervasive in urban areas. Cable, on the other hand, has permeated remote areas. The problem with cable, as I understand it, is that too many users in one area can affect speed. It will be a showdown.
What do I like? Well, I asked a poster some time back to list the ADSL plays for me. He was kind enough to reply with AWRE, ORCTF, PAIR, WSTL. TERN was Williams' suggestion, and it appeared a prominent cable play. I hold AWRE and TERN. Some review of all the aforementioned will show how hot the sector is. Look at ORCTF today.COVD also made a move today. All those PC's already out there are going to want the only piece of gear they dont already have. A high-speed modem!
