John, the IPO monitor site gives the ability to search by date and sector. I searched March to April 1998 in cyclical and basic materials sectors to get this short list(my pasting of the Yahoo link doesn't look right):

CIX INRB FRIZ OME ROLL
The one year charts don't look good.

In the tech sector:
ASPC BRCM SYS CRGN EXDS XTND ISSX MOBI
ONX PCCC SFO SRDX
The techs are mixed with some real bombs intermixed with a few darlings.

The hypothesis I'd like to check out is: "If the stock is trading below its offering price 1 month after IPO, what is the chance it will continue down over the next 12 months?"

Will work on that over the next week and get back.
