Bay Networks (now part of Nortel) is the leading cable-modem supplier. Perhaps you're
thinking of them. 3Com is the leading analog-modem maker (US Robotics).

William,

Bay Networks does sell cable modems by the name of LANCity. That was a small firm they bought a few years back. COMS does make a cable modem but it did not come the US Robotics devision they bought.

I am way off topic but it is interesting that CSCO does not produce cable modems. Margins too small??
