IDT Receives High Ranking from Forbes ASAP Magazine

HACKENSACK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999--IDT (NASDAQ:IDTC - news) today announced that it has
been ranked 4th among telecommunications companies on the Forbes ASAP Dynamic 100 list, ASAP's second annual
ranking of the most dynamic technology companies in America. Forbes ASAP is a supplement to Forbes magazine.

''IDT is the King of Change,'' the article in the April 5, 1999 issue of Forbes ASAP reported. ''The company that invented the international callback business in
the late '80s routinely finds swans among telecom's ugly-duckling markets (like prepaid calling cards). Internet telephony could be the biggest winner of all, and
IDT's Net2Phone system has a big lead in the consumer market. Revenue growth is in the triple digits, but visionary founder Howard Jonas hasn't lost sight of
the bottom line.''

IDT ranked 4th, after Qwest (NASDAQ:QWST - news), RCN (NASDAQ:RCNC - news), and MCI/WorldCom (NASDAQ:WCOM - news). Last year, IDT
was named 6th most dynamic telecommunications company.

''IDT is flattered to be recognized as one of the top telecommunications companies by such an influential magazine as Forbes ASAP,'' said Howard Jonas,
Founder and CEO of IDT. ''We are continuing to enhance and strengthen our services and network and strive to reach new heights for our customers.''

IDT is a leading emerging multinational carrier that combines its position as an international telecommunications operator, its experience as an Internet service
provider and its leading position in Internet telephony to provide a broad range of telecommunications services to its wholesale and retail customers worldwide.
The company provides its customers with integrated and competitively priced international and domestic long distance, pre-paid calling cards, Internet access
and, through its Net2Phone product offerings, Internet telephony services including Net2Phone Direct, Net2Fax, Click2Talk, and easysurf.com. For more
information about IDT's Internet telephony services, please visit www.net2phone.com.

Except for historical information, all of the expectations and assumptions contained in the foregoing are forward-looking statements involving risks and
uncertainties. Important factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from such forward-looking statements, include, but are not limited to, the
competitive environment for Internet telephony, changes of rates of all related telco rates and services, legislation that may affect the Internet telephony industry,
IDT's ability to operate the services described on a large scale commercial level. For additional information regarding these and other risks associated with the
company's business refer to the company's reports filed with the SEC.
