VocalTec Demonstrates Interoperability Between Cisco Gateways and VocalTec Gatekeeper Announced at Spring '99 Voice on the Net Conference in Las Vegas

HERZLIYA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999-- VocalTec
Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: VOCLF - news) today announced that the company
will demonstrate interoperability between the VocalTec Gatekeeper(TM) and Cisco
Gateways for phone-to-phone service at the Voice on the Net Spring '99 conference.
The interoperability demonstration will take place in VocalTec's booth, number
429/431, in the exhibitors hall at the Rio Hotel, Las Vegas, April 14 through April 16,
1999.

''This interoperability demonstration at the Voice on the Net conference shows the two
companies' commitment to rapidly bring to market interoperable Cisco gateways and
the VocalTec Gatekeeper,'' said Alistair Woodman, group manager of packet voice
technologies at Cisco Systems. ''Both companies look forward to extending this
interoperability to continue to provide carriers greater functionality and features.''

''VocalTec and Cisco are advancing the industry forward by enabling carriers to deploy
multi-vendor networks based on industry standards that allow carriers to choose best of
breed solutions,'' said Dr. Elon Ganor, chairman of VocalTec Communications.
''VocalTec is committed to expanding the VocalTec Ensemble Architecture(TM)
multi-service platform by working with leading companies such as Cisco to deliver
interoperable solutions today.''

Previously announced, VocalTec and Cisco are developing interoperability between the
companies IP telephony solutions based on the International Telecommunications Union
(ITU) H.323 international standard. In the first phase, the companies are developing
interoperability between the intelligence of the VocalTec Gatekeeper and Cisco
Gateways including the Cisco AccessPath-VS3, AS5300, 3600 series and 2600 series
for phone-to-phone service. Interoperable solutions for post-paid phone-to-phone
service will be commercially available by the end of the second quarter of 1999.

The second phase of this project will focus on interoperability between the two
companies' complete product sets including gateways, gatekeepers, and VocalTec's
specialized servers and clients for new and enhanced services. Interoperable solutions
for pre-paid phone-to-phone service and additional applications will be made available
starting in the fourth quarter of 1999.
