They are selling 10% of their discount brokerage to the public. Over a period of time this 10% will trade at a phenomenal multiple of earnings. TD will sell another 10% to the public later at a much higher price raising money. TD then gets to book the 80% of its remaining assets at that high multiple level. Giving the shareholders a great increase in book value and ability to raise money without direct dilution..."
