Judy,

Cadence, Synopsis are currently the market leaders in
EDA and for the foreseeable future.
Mentor no longer commands that leadership it once held.

Slow to react to a changing market environment (PCB Layout especially)

Way too much technical talent have jumped ship to establish
themselves elsewhere.

and finally, I see no cash cow here looking forward.
