Japan's DDI, IDO to launch new cell-phone service

TOKYO, April 13 (Reuters) - Cellular phone service providers DDI Corp and Nippon Idou Tsushin Corp (IDO), an affiliate of
Toyota Motor Corp , said on Tuesday they would launch a new digital network service on Wednesday.

The two firms said they expect to acquire three million new subscribers from the cdmaOne new-generation cellular phone service in
the business year that started on April 1.

The new service is designed to compete more effectively with giant NTT Mobile Communications Network Inc (NTT Docomo) ,
which now holds more than 50 percent of Japan's cellular phone market.
