At some point in time the board of directors is going to have to step up and tell the market that it is going to draw a line in the sand and say we will not let our shares cross below this line. This will give a message to shareholders and employees (who probably all own shares) that the co. is prepared to protect shareholders value.
This would cost very little because volume has been so low. It is a tool that has been used by many solid cos in the past. ( IBM, MacDonald's etc. etc. as well as many resource cos.)
