Tell I'm wrong, but I think the battle between PEMs and Solid Oxide fuel cells has been determined. PEMs won. Go to some of the fuel cell and hydrogen sites, BLD, MKTY, Plug Power, ERC, Hydrogen fuel cell letter site and many others. Solid oxide fuel cells will work but have lots of negative aspects to overcome with regards to general use, ie 800 degrees c. which cannot be solved as this temp is required to separated the hydrogen from the stock fuel with out a reformer. Also look at carbon fiber nano tubes. they have been able to store large volumes of pure hydrogen in a small canister. This is also becoming significant in eliminating the on board reformer. While I was on the BLD ride for three years this subject (solid oxide)was discussed significantly between Sid and others. On another note, wish I was back in here for that ride up. And there probably is a place for the solid oxide system. To date I think they are cheaper. Scott
