X2 and ROK will co-exist peacefully eventually. It is likely that neither the USR or ROK solution will be accepted as the standard, and both sides will have to make changes.

I wouldn't be surprised if USR released an upgrade later this year to make their X2 compatible with ROK. For them, it is just a software upgrade.

In the mean time, X2 is out there, ROK-based modems will not be out there for at least 3-4 months. A long list of ISPs will offer X2 connectivity. USR is the dominant leader in the modem market. The technology will be widely accepted and USR will profit immensely.

When the stock triples by this time next year, you'll see what I mean...
