Security Dynamics Expands Strong Authentication Solutions Across Full
Line Of IBM Servers

SecurID(R) Authentication Products Now Available for IBM E-Business Solutions

BEDFORD, Mass., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Security Dynamics Technologies' (Nasdaq: SDTI - news) growing family of industry-leading SecurID® strong
user-authentication solutions reached a new milestone today by adding protection from unauthorized access for IBM's complete line of enterprise servers. Two new
ACE/Agents(TM) for IBM AS/400e and S/390 Parallel Enterprise Servers announced today join those already available for IBM Netfinity, IBM RS/6000 and
many other major platforms. The new ACE/Agents are designed to work together with Security Dynamics' family of ACE/Servers and a broad range of SecurID
authenticators to ensure that only authorized users gain access to network files, applications and communications. The result is designed to create a barrier against
unauthorized access to these systems to protect critical network resources, while enabling enterprises to securely conduct e-business over the Internet. It is estimated
that 70 percent of the world's business data resides on IBM servers, the majority of which is on S/390 servers.

''Today's announcement is significant because it addresses a key challenge that IBM environments face in rolling out new e-business applications,'' said Scott
Schnell, senior vice president of marketing for Security Dynamics. ''The strong user authentication offered by these Security Dynamics products permits businesses
to use the Internet to securely share this information with their partners, connect with their back-end data systems and transact commerce.''

One of the greatest challenges businesses face as they approach e-business is achieving adequate security for their mission-critical applications while providing
access to legitimate external users over non-secure networks like the Internet. IBM defines e-business as the transformation of key business processes through the
use of Internet technologies, merging the standards, simplicity and connectivity of the Internet with the core processes that are the foundation of business.

''Now more than ever, knowing who you are transacting with is one of the cornerstones of trust needed for conducting business over the Web,'' said Linda Distel,
program director, S/390 Security at IBM. ''Having SecurID available on our platform gives our customers more choices in implementing two-factor authentication
on the network.''

Strong user authentication provides much greater security than traditional passwords. Static passwords can be easily guessed or ''cracked,'' making them the logical
target for unauthorized users. As a result, relying on passwords for user authentication cannot assure that the users at the end of the connection are, in fact, who they
say they are. Security Dynamics' strong authentication technology is designed to eliminate this risk.

The strength of the SecurID solution is rooted in its patented method that generates a one-time, pseudo-random code that changes every 60 seconds. The same
method is incorporated in the ACE/Server. When an authorized user enters the current one-time code as indicated by SecurID, along with a unique personal
identification number (PIN), the ACE/Server validates the passcode and permits the ACE/Agent that front ends the network resource to allow user access. By
combining these two factors -- the one-time code with a PIN -- only authorized users can gain access to network resources.

Security Dynamics provides the industry's leading strong user authentication solution. Today, more than 3,000 companies have adopted ACE/Server and SecurID
technology for protecting remote access to corporate networks, and more than 4 million individuals around the world use SecurID authenticators in various forms to
positively identify themselves before accessing corporate networks, Web sites and sensitive information.

The S/390 is IBM's most powerful enterprise server, and the AS/400e series is considered one of the world's most popular multi-user business computing systems.

Pricing and Availability

ACE/Agent software for IBM S/390 servers, as well as IBM Netfinity (Windows NT) and RS/6000 (AIX) servers, is available immediately through Security
Dynamics' direct sales force and the company's worldwide network of channel partners. The ACE/Agent for AS/400 will be available within the next 30 days.
