You seem to have some of facts/opinions either wrong or biased. Taking your points in order:

1- The most serioous side effect in the HUNDREDS of men in Zonagen's trials has been a stuffy nose. Check the dosage and route of administration in your "severe hypotension" incidents & report that info - just to be accurate.

2- Effective rates of drug and/or placebo are strongly influenced by study design - especially the definition (usually established by the company) of a "successful" attempt. Zonagen's definition of success in their trials has been "satisfactory sex - including orgasm". Check the similar definitions of success for the others & report that info - just to be accurate.

Also, what are the side effects of these other drugs? Do you know, do you care? Check it out and report that info - just to be accurate.

3- Now think rationally about it. Ignoring for now exactly how you come to classify 40 mg oral doses of phentolamine to be lethal, how many drugs do you think the FDA would approve if all "potentially lethal" drugs were rejected? - Let's start with that feared killer - Tylenol. Do a rational investigation of the top 25 drugs sold today & report that info - just to be accurate.

4- Similarly, what is to stop any patient from overdosing themselves. What if someone is so pleased with his erection using Caverject that he injects himself 10 times - maybe he just enjoys sticking needles in his johnson - maybe his partner does - who knows, .... who cares.

It is plain that you have some other agenda than the rational analysis you claim. The fact is that an oral medication for this problem will logically be the first choice for any sane patient/physician. IF the oral doesn't work well enough then he can move on to the more INVASIVE and more EXPENSIVE alternatives. If Zonagen can reach 10% of the estimated number of men with the problem it will be a $100 stock - minimum.
