plane, but there is a meta-truth, a gestalt, which isn't subject to logical dissection.
Christ's (Buddha, Lao Tsu, Krishna, Mohammed . . .) teachings contain truths
which intuitively resonate with the soul of mankind, regardless of whether he even
had a corporeal existence. IMO, the Bible is an artifact of humanity's
consciousness,<

Do you accept that the New Testament strongly posits certain things as true? Like Jesus' claim to be the one portal to salvation and righteousness? That these claims and similar claims from other great religions are mutually exclusive?
In order to do what you suggest, the observer needs to selectively pick over the bodies of thought you mentioned and discard the unwanted truths. This is a judgmental act, one which necessarily places Man the Worshipper in the position of the judge and partial executioner of God's Word (or more broadly the Religious Canon).

What we've been doing here is just that - wrestling with how to deal with the Old and New Testaments using every tool of our minds. Logical thought as well as the more intuitive and spiritual ethical/aesthetic sensibility. There is nothing spirit-affirming or spirit-negating about that, at least imho. Thus I meet your comment about arrogance with some confusion.
