Poetry might be the hardest art form. Wait. I would include musical composition in that rubric. Both require creativity writ large, and the pros seem to have a massive amount of literacy within and outside their fields.

"never seen Alf" Good. It remains as perhaps the lowest of the lowest-common-denominator sitcoms ever foisted upon a sedated audience. "Married with Children" was Mencken by comparison.
